However, with the new restrictions, only two lines can now benefit from the same promotional offer. The remaining lines may still use a separate secondary promotion, but this change is a clear downgrade for families or accounts with multiple lines.
Moreover, T-Mobile has also made free lines, which are sometimes offered as part of various promotional packages, ineligible for device promotions. For instance, customers who sign up for a single line may receive a second line for free, but as of now, these secondary lines will not qualify for any device promotions. Existing devices that were financed under previous promotional terms will continue to be billed at their current rates, but any future upgrades will require customers to pay the full price.
Additionally, it is noteworthy that the paid lines included in these buy-one-get-one service line promotions will still be able to utilize device promotions. This means that if a device is redeemed at a promotional price on a paid line, it can subsequently be activated on a free line, albeit without the promotional pricing for the free line itself.
